By | 18 August 2025

The initiative by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the European Medicines Agency supports the WHO’s goal of eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.

The guide was published ahead of Prisoners’ Day on 10 August and aims to promote hepatitis B and C prevention and treatment in prisons across Europe. It is primarily aimed at professionals working in prison healthcare. It contains information on how measures to prevent and control viral hepatitis can be facilitated in such settings.
